Based on the National CERT Standard (Singapore Civil Defence Force - SCDF), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Tier 1 Petroleum & Flammable Materials (P&FM) premises is designed for high-risk, immediate response to fires and chemical leaks. Tier 1 P&FM premises typically store more than 5 metric tonnes of petroleum or flammable materials.
The mandatory PPE for a Tier 1 P&FM CERT team includes, but is not limited to, at least 5 sets of the following (for 1 Senior Incidental Commander and 4 Emergency Response Team members):
Mandatory Tier 1 P&FM PPE
  • Firefighting Suit: Full protective suits (structural firefighting gear).
  • Firefighting Helmet: With face shields or goggles.
  • Breathing Apparatus (BA): Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) sets for smoke-filled or toxic environments.
  • Firefighting Gloves: Heat-resistant gloves.
  • Firefighting Boots: Durable, fire-resistant, and slip-proof boots.
  • Goggles / Face Shields: For eye protection against chemical splashes and debris.
Additional Required Gear for P&FM

  • Chemical Suits: Type 3/4 or similar, for handling hazardous material leaks.
  • Rubber Gloves & Boots: Specialized protective gear for chemical resistance.
