We provide foam laboratory services for the testing of low, medium and high expansion fire-fighting foams in accordance to EN1568 and/or IMO standards. Foam samples are to be provided to us in a clean, dry sample bottle, with appropriate information prior to the commencement of foam testing, such as:
- Purchase order/sample number
- Foam type
- Brand name
- Concentration %
- Ship name
- Location sample taken from
- Date of sample collection
- Manufacturer specifications of foam
Properties to be tested (depending on foam sample)
- Appearance
- PH
- Volumic mass
- Viscosity
- Sedimentation
- Surface Tension
- Expansion
- Drainage time
- Low/Medium/High expansion
- Burnback resistance
- Fire test on heptane
- Fire test on acetone

Foam Analysis – High expansion
Result : Approx. 3 to 4 working days upon received of
sample.
Sample size taken must be at least 2.0 liters.
The following information must be provided for each
sample taken:
1) Manufacturer of Foam
2) Date sample taken.
3) Date of complete tank filling.
4) Ration of foam sample taken (3%, 6% or 3-6%)
5) Alcohol Resistant -- Yes /No
6) Area to be protected by foam: A) Deck B) Helideck C)
Engine Room
7) Material of tank: Steel/coated, Stainless Steel, Fibre
