The HAMMAR Lifebuoy Release System Mk II (HM-0600) is a complete safety package designed for rapid, remote electric and automatic water-activated deployment of a ship's lifebuoy during a man-overboard (MOB) emergency. It weighs approximately 18 kg and features an activation release depth of 1.5 to 4 meters. 
System Components Included in Package
  • GRP Holder: Double-sided glass fiber reinforced plastic holder with a pre-installed metal bracket and spring holder.
  • Electric Remote Unit (ERU): Pre-installed on the metal holder with an activation cord for water/electric release.
  • Release Switch: Housed in a protective box intended for mounting on the bridge or wheelhouse.
  • Connector Box: Marine-grade plastic enclosure with an IP66 water-resistance rating.
  • Connection Cable: 20 meters of grey dual-core cable (2 × 0.75 mm²).
  • Safety & Loading Hardware: Stainless steel manual safety pin and a pilot line used to load the lifebuoy.
Key Features & Operation
  • Activation Modes: Can be triggered electrically via the bridge push-button switch, automatically upon submerging in water (1.5–4m depth hydrostatic activation), or manually by pulling the safety pin. 
  • Application: Ideal for installation on cargo vessels, tankers, passenger ships, offshore platforms, and bridge wings. 
  • Mechanism: Upon activation, a heavy-duty spring forcefully snaps the retaining lever away to ensure instant, snag-free release of the lifebuoy.
